Work in progress for the Como lake waterfront, caring the tradition in a modern style. To make the project feasible is the "Life Electric" monument, designed and given from the arch star Danile Libeskind as a present to the town of Como in this year of 2015 Milan Expo, to which gave its contribution Nuova Defim Orsogril as well. Always careful to the needs of the territory in which operates, Nuova Defim is going to supply the steel for the monument foundation to be completed during the last week of July and offers the fence that will be installed in the area hosting the monument.
“Amici di Como” association, where Nuova Defim Orsogril is enrolled, supports the project in order to contribute actively in improving the city and the territory images. The aim is raising funds and implementing initiatives and development projects in various sectors as occurred in the past with the creation of the new Como lakeside (read the news).
The Life Electric is a monument in honor of Alessandro Volta. It will be built in the middle of the first basin of Como Lake with a clean, linear and environment deeply contextualized esthetics. About 16,50 meters tall, it has the shape of two opposed sine waves playing by themselves between curves and movement.
"The Life Electric - says Daniel Libeskind - is inspired by the electric tension between the battery two poles, representing the great gift left from Volta to the Humanity. The shape of the installation is focusing on my ongoing research on architectural representation of energy. The work merges the elements: light, wind and water. This installation is a physical and ideal gateway opened towards the twenty first Century. "
Great attention to the feelings is given here. To transform the simple visual perception in emotion, the monument englobes a number light spots reflecting themselves in the lake surface and also on sprinklers all around it, to create a lightshow in order to represent Life Electric as a unique attraction able to intrigue many Italian and foreign tourists coming to visit the not far away 2015 Milan Expo.5.
